TL;DR: What is Entity Home?

An entity home is the single canonical page, usually on your own website, that search engines and AI systems treat as the authoritative source of truth about who you are, what you do, and whom you serve. The concept was developed by Jason Barnard of Kalicube.

Entity Home explained

The term comes from Jason Barnard, who built the Kalicube methodology around a simple observation: machines resolving an entity, a brand, a person, an organization, look for one page to anchor on, then corroborate what that page says against the rest of the web. Your entity home is that anchor, typically an About page or homepage that states plainly what the entity is, what it offers, and who it serves.

Two forces make the anchor work. The first is completeness: the entity home and its supporting pages (media, case studies, testimonials) give machines a full, unambiguous description, reinforced by Organization schema and sameAs links to your official profiles. The second is corroboration: AI systems and knowledge graphs check whether independent sources describe you the same way. When your website, social profiles, directories, and press coverage all tell one consistent story, machine confidence in that story compounds. When they conflict, confidence fragments, and the machine either hedges or chooses a version you did not intend.

This is the entity-level version of a discipline local SEO has enforced for years with name, address, and phone consistency. AI systems extended the principle from contact fields to the entire brand narrative: mission, positioning, services, and audience.

In practice

I frame it for clients as consistency work, the same instinct as NAP consistency in local SEO, applied to the whole story. Your mission, your values, who you serve, what services you are known for: say the same thing on your website, your social profiles, your press page, your third-party listings and mentions. Then give it all one home base, an About page the machines can anchor on, supported by media, case studies, and reviews. Inconsistency is not neutral; it actively dilutes what AI systems believe about you.

Common misconception

People often treat the About page as an afterthought for human visitors. Actually, it is often the highest-leverage page for machines: the anchor AI systems resolve your entire brand against, and the reference everything else gets checked for consistency with.
